Released in 2001, Poets & Madmen is the eleventh studio album by heavy/progressive metal icons Savatage. Centered around a concept inspired by the life and tragic demise of photojournalist Kevin Carter, the record blends dark, hard-hitting heavy metal riffs with the band’s signature theatrical storytelling and symphonic arrangements.

Following the departure of lead vocalist Zak Stevens prior to recording, founding member Jon Oliva stepped back up to handle all lead vocals for the first time since 1991's Streets: A Rock Opera. It also features the return of guitarist Chris Caffery alongside Al Pitrelli. This South Korean edition includes the enhanced "Handful of Rain" bonus video clip playable on computers.
